Steloy Castings operates in accordance with well-established quality assurance systems. The Cobalt Street and Tungsten Street plants are both SABS ISO 9001:2000 listed, underwritten by SANAS and RvA, while the Chamdor plant has TUV (Rheinland) ISO 9001:2000 certification.

Steloy Castings adheres to a policy of producing castings according to internationally acknowledged cast specifications. Because of the implicit relationship with AISI/ANSI/ASME/API standards, ASTM cast specifications are usually applied. Other specifications such as DIN EN, BS AND SEW are also applied on a regular basis. In addition, provision has been made for specific cases requiring conformance to fit-for-purpose specifications.

A complete range of quality control procedures is employed to ensure adherence to the highest standards and specifications. These are either applied in-house or by approved third-party inspection authorities. NDT standards and practices most frequently applied are the following:

Radiographic examination

Liquid penetrant examination

Magnetic particle examination

Ultrasonic examination

Dimensional tolerances

Welding procedures and qualification

Certification in accordance with EN 10204 3.1B

Positive Material Identification (PMI)
