The production of ethylene requires the cracking of feedstock, naptha or ethane, which must be molelcularly cracked. This process, which occurs in pyrolysis coils, generates carbon, or coke, and due to the high operating temperatures to obtain the proper cracking rates, carburization of the coil is experienced. Steloy casts and build complete pyrolysis coils for this rigorous environment. Specific alloys have been developed to retard the effect of carburization of the alloyed tube walls. The use of centrifugal cast tubes, fittings, manifolds and supports are used in the fabrication of these coils. All fabrication is perfomed to API and ASME code utilizing the GTAW process.
